Please remember that any and all formal requests for advice must be made through the structures of the union, i.e. to your regional officials and EC member. Under FBU rules, every FBU Brigade Committee must have a negotiating committee in place. In addition, it is the duty of every regional committee to: ‘supervise the conduct of negotiations within its territory in accordance with the policy of the Union. In cases in which the policy on matters to be negotiated has not been determined by Conference or by the Executive Council it shall be the duty of the Regional Committee to refer such matters to the Executive Council for guidance.’

Therefore this facility should not be used to seek formal advice or input into negotiations which are properly the matter of regional committee oversight.

This is an official FBU facility, so all the values & standards of conduct expected by the union apply. Anyone found to be misusing this site or undertaking activities such as canvassing, could be made the subject of sanctions.

Afternoon comrades, Does anyone have a good copy or a copy for that matter of any policies on pay protection please, I have a service trying to introduce a 12 month pay protection period and they argue that other services don't have a policy for longer periods ... we pointed out a previous agreement from rank to role. Any help would be much appreciated YIU Brian Harris [email protected] Reg3

Whilst we understand the matter in relation to RDS pay - a simple recalculation basically for previous 52 weeks rather than as as was over 12 weeks...whether this is something we should be arguing for WT remains unclear. There is reference to pay being irregular - and ... etc involving OT etc which I find hard to translate to WT irrespective of the type of OT worked? Any help welcome YIU Gary

Have your brigades given members leave back for a period of isolation for a vulnerable family member? Eg, if I had to isolate because my partner was shielding, have your brigades returned leave for these periods. Thanks

In light of the case law over recent years (of which there are many), regarding the legal requirement to include any overtime (both compulsory & voluntary) and any other allowances & payments, which FRS are actually adhering to this requirement and if so what payments are ... European WTD or the additional 1.6 weeks under UK WTD? and what, if any agreed formula are they working this out? Cheers.

After the high court judgement in March 2019 are any Fire & Rescue Services including this as pensionable pay or have any ongoing IDRP's in relation to this? This would apply to the Rent, Fuel & Light allowance only, not a combined allowance as a % of salary under any day crewing package by collective agreement.
